Billing Information
Better Health Medical Centre is a private medical practice. We have a billing system that provides clear consistent billing procedure.
Patients pay the following
Billing Details
- Standard appointments (level B Medicare item 23): $85 Rebate $41.40
- Long appointments ( level C Medicare Item 36): $115 Rebate $80.10
- Long appointments Level D Medicare item 44: $165 Rebate $118.00
- Surgical Procedures: $55-$100* (Doctors will advise patients of such costs prior to procedures)
- We bulk bill children under 16 yrs , DVA patients and eligible aged pensioners (over 65 yrs) (Should have a valid Medicare card)
- Patients who have a valid Medicare card can claim their Medicare rebate back in to their account through our Tyro EFTPOS machine

- Flu injection consultations
- Wound Care
- INR testing and dosing
- Weight loss consultations provided by the nurse
- Aged based assessments for 45-49 year olds and 75+ Health Assessments
- Allergy/Hormone injections
- B12 Injections
- Nurse Blood Pressure Checks
Free consultations are paid for by Medicare on behalf of the patient.
WorkCover consultations are billed at the rate determined by the Victorian WorkCover Authority for work related injuries and illnesses. All consultations require full payment on the day by the patient. Better Health medical centre bills the Victorian WorkCover Authority directly only if the Victorian WorkCover Authority has accepted liability and if you provide us with your Workcover claim number.
We can directly bill the DVA for veterans with gold cards, and for veterans with white cards for accepted illnesses.
TAC consultations are billed at the rate determined by the TAC for traffic accident injuries and illnesses. All consultations require full payment on the day by the patient. Better Health Medical Centre directly bills the TAC only if the TAC has accepted full liability, if you provide us with your
TAC claim number and if all excess payments have been met by you.
