Telehealth

Telehealth Consultation Guidelines

We offer telehealth consultations to our patients, which can be conducted via video or telephone. Telehealth is a particularly useful initial assessment tool for patients experiencing easily communicable diseases such as COVID-19, influenza, and gastroenteritis.

If you suspect you may have an easily communicable disease, we strongly recommend arranging a telehealth appointment with your GP. This approach helps prevent the spread of infection to other patients in the waiting room.

Telehealth consultations are also effective for the following situations:
• Contacting your doctor about non-urgent test results.
• Renewing a referral to a specialist you have seen previously (please note: an initial referral to a specialist requires a GP assessment, so a face-to-face appointment is recommended).
• Obtaining a repeat prescription for your regular medications. Please be aware that authority prescriptions and Schedule 8 prescriptions are not permitted via telehealth.

To book a telehealth consultation with our doctors, you must have seen one of our doctors in person within the past 12 months and completed your My Medicare registration at our clinic.
